For the first time, an exhibition of the Bienal happens in the city of São Luís-MA, an initiative made possible through the partnership with Instituto Cultural Vale. The exhibition that will be shown in the city is organized from the statement The Portraits of Frederick Douglass. Douglass was an American public figure, journalist, writer, orator, and one of the leading exponents of the struggle for the abolition of slavery. To this day, his portraits circulate around the world as a symbol of justice and freedom.
